I got to check out FRESHFARM Market in Dupont Circle for the first time last weekend. Conveniently located right outside the metro station (Q Street exit), it is open every Sunday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Everything sold there is grown or made locally (DC, MD and VA region), and an information table is available for anyone who wishes to learn more about the organization that runs it and the various vendors.

I wish they had this market back when I lived in DC. YUMMY!
It opened in the late 90s, I think. A must-see for when you’re back in the area. :)
Beautiful street photography!!! Thanks for sharing Nonoy Manga
Thank you! :)
Ah…my old ‘hood! I used to live just up the street from Dupont and I shopped at the market all the time. Thanks for the pics — I love the first one.
Glad to have shared with you some snapshots of your old ‘hood! You’re so lucky. I’d love to live in that area someday. It was my first time at the market. Before last weekend, I’d only been to Eastern Market.
DC truly is full or surprises! I can’t wait to be back! ;)
It really is an interesting city. Maybe not as exciting as others, but it offers many cool cultural events (e.g. embassy open houses), open-air markets, festivals on Pennsylvania Avenue, etc.
amazingly documented !
Thanks so much! :)
I lived in Maryland and Virginia for thirty-one years so I just had to check this out. And yes even though I haven’t lived on the East/right Coast for fifteen years I remember Dupont Circle well. Although as I recall I usually had to much to drink when I was near the circle. Oh well, I guess it is a good thing that those days are over! Thanks for the memories.
I have as much fun at a farmer’s market as a child does when visiting a carnival — excellent photos!
